It can also be practiced on flat beaches using obstacles and ramps (flatland).
From the English skim, which means "to skim" or "to pass lightly over", Skimboard is a sport practiced mainly on falling beaches and consists of running towards a wave, throwing your board quickly by jumping on top of it (drop) and then surf the wave (wrap).
Another modality that can be practiced basically involves sliding the board over a thin layer of water, at the seaside.
